Solar Genesis/IPL
Solar Genesis is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots. Solar Genesis selectively treats the brown and/or red pigmented areas on your skin. It's the heating of the pigmented brown or red cells that causes the therapeutic effect. Immediately following treatment, brown spots will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen. This typically lasts a few hours and possibly a day or longer. Make-up can be applied immediately. One to three treatments are usually sufficient to see results.
Vein Therapy
Now men and women are making unsightly facial and leg veins a thing of the past, thanks to the Cutera YAG 1064. No more painful injections! With the most advanced technology, a unique design, and a longer wavelength, Cutera can safely and effectively treat both tiny superficial face veins and deeper blue leg veins on men and women of all skin tones. The Cutera YAG 1064 provides pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin's surface, where it should be. Often patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient. However, the number of treatments necessary depends on the number, color and size of the vessels being treated.
Pearl
Pearl is the procedure to renew your skin's surface with quick, visible results. Pearl treats fine lines on the face and neck, uneven skin texture and light and dark spots caused by sun damage. During a Pearl treatment, the top layer of the skin is treated with pulses of light. A portion of the epidermis (skin surface) is gently removed and a natural protective dressing is formed on the skin's surface. Most patients fell a series of brief pinches during the treatment. After 3 to 4 days, the protective dressing peels off, revealing new, healthy, vibrant skin underneath. The Pearl laser replaces the entire top, sun-damaged layer of skin with new, healthy skin. Simultaneously, it sends heat to deeper layers of the skin stimulating new collagen growth, filling out and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. New collagen growth continues for 4 to 6 weeks pst-treatment. The combination of new skin and decreased wrinkles results in a healthier, more youthful appearance. Unlike "fractional" treatments, Pearl treats the entire face, minimizing the number of required treatments. Typically, only 1 or 2 treatments are necessary to renew your skin.
performed most often in the perioral area of the mouth to help soften superficial crease lines in the upper and lower lip and chin. Usually a rotary brush will remove the outer layer of the skin and a portion of the deeper dermis; this results in an open wound that heals with reepitheliazation after several days.
another method of skin resurfacing using chemical agents, the most common is trichloroacetic adid (TCA)
Basic goals are cleansing, protecting, moisturizing, prevention of skin aging and slowing its effects and aiding in reversing these effects.
The majority of skin cancers (basal cell carcinoma), which are usually small or contained, may be removed with excision and a closure at the same time. The more aggresive cancers (squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma) may require a wider excision, and a closure with a local flap or a skin graft. All skin cancers require a microscopic examination to determie its total excision. Most can be removed with a local anesthetic, some require intravenous sedation.
These
can usually be excised under a local anesthetic.
These may be repaired, and repierced after full healing has occured.
Scar revision surgery is meant to minimize the scar so that it is more consistent with your surrounding skin tone and texture; however, even though there may be a more pleasing cosmetic result, a scar cannot be completely erased. Often a maturing (still healing) scar may be treated topically with gels, tapes, external compression. Injectable treatment with a steroid based compound may also be considered.
transfer of one's own fatty tissue, usually harvested from the anterior abdominal wall, then refined to remove non-living components, and placement into recipient tissues. It is the most biocompatible of soft tissue fillers but does require some form of aesthetic for procuring and placement and is done under sterile conditions in the operating room suite. Longevity of the fat transfer is dependent on several factors including minimal destruction of the tissues where it is being placed and maximal surface area contact with the surrounding tissues.
