Breast lift surgery does not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. Each patient has unique needs and Dr. Slywka will help you decide what breast lift procedure is best for you. Your mastopexy surgery can be achieved through a variety of incision patterns and techniques which will be determined based on:
— Breast size and shape
— Size and position of your areolas
— Degree of breast sagging
— Skin quality and elasticity as well as the amount of extra skin
There are three common incision procedures:
— Around the areola
— Around the areola and vertically down from the areola to the breast crease
— Around the areola, vertically down from the breast crease and horizontally along the breast crease
After Dr. Slywka makes the incisions:
— The underlying breast tissue is lifted and reshaped to improve breast contour and firmness.
— The nipple and areola are repositioned to a natural, more youthful height.
— If necessary, enlarged areolas are reduced.
— Excess breast skin is removed to compensate for a loss of elasticity.
Breastlift surgeries are performed in our private, in-office surgical suite, which is AAAASF accredited and has a private exit as well as a main entrance. We provide the highest standard of safety, care and privacy.
Breastlifts are usually performed under general or sedation anesthesia. Dr. Slywka will recommend the best choice for you. He works with experienced CRNA’s (certified registered nurse anesthetists), who are always present until you are discharged from the facility.
After your breast lift procedure is completed, dressings will be applied and you will be placed in a surgical bra to minimize swelling and support your breasts as they heal. Dr. Slywka and his staff will give specific instructions on how to care for your breasts following surgery, including medications to take and when to have follow-up appointments as well as how soon to resume showering and activities.
Dr. Slywka and his staff will give you extensive advice regarding your surgery and any risks during your consultation and pre-op appointments. The results of your breast lift surgery are immediately visible. Over time, post-surgical swelling will resolve and incision lines will fade. Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you recover and realize the fulfillment of your goal for breasts which have been restored to a more youthful and uplifted position.
